It contains some intimacy scenes though described in a tasteful manner. Also some swear words yet nothing radical. There is nothing that a regular 17 year old wouldn't know about by this age.

I would say 16+ is totally appropriate if you don't feel strongly about your kids facing with intimacy scenes or mild "every day" swear words (again, very tastefully written book).

This book is great and I would definitely recommend to read it! (less)
