Can I read this without having read the night huntress series?

There is very little mention of the NH characters in the first 2 books, but a reaaaally big spoiler about them in the third one, so if you MUST start with NP, I'd say read the first two then switch to the beginning of NH. That being said, I think the world would make better sense if you start with NH. Another reason why you might want to consider reading the books in the right order is that Vlad's character is a recurrent one through out the books that lead up to NP, and I think by skipping those you miss out on a lot. is the Night Prince as good as the first 4 books of the Night Huntress series? I'm debating whether to keep reading this series atm bc book 5 of Night Huntress seems super dull right about now.

Book 5, for it's part is a li…moreI LOVE the Night Huntress series to death. But if you don't care for book 5, I think you probably won't care for book 6. Book 5, for it's part is a little slower in the middle, but the ending I feel like makes it worth it and really ties everything together and delivers the action that you expect from this series. book 6 was my least favourite of the series, but it's still worth reading. If you're not a fan though, just skim over the parts you know you can skip. the final book though, I feel like that ends the series with the best possible bang and embodies EVERYTHING that the night huntress books are about.

I say all this so you know that when I honestly recommend the night prince books, it's not just blind love for this world, because I liked certain night huntress books better than others. And I think if you liked the first 4 the best, then you'll like these, because it's got a similar vibe. and if you liked Vlad at all, then DEFINITELY read them, because he's just as intense as ever(less)
