There are some continuities between books, in character names, settings, and (most obviously) his style in structuring the stories, but I didn't feel like reading them out of chronological order impacted my enjoyment.(less)

Dear fellow readers and Mitchell fans, “Forty minutes, times sixty seconds, that’s twenty-four thousand seconds to go”, says the narrator in the Petersburg chapter. Is this a deliberate mistake (I can imagine that character making such a mistake)?

Especially in "Train" chapter the times passes in the blink of an eye, so maybe this was one of the signs that time is irrelative in this novel.(less)
