This really is a book for "how to mess up your kids". Their methods are abusive, and not based on age appropriateness, development ready skills or any scientific research. They claim their methods of training come from old Amish techniques from training livestock. Really?? You can't treat a child like you do a horse!!!! My heart aches for the children of parents who follow the Pearls' teachings.
