Should you read it entirely in one go? No, I think for this particular collection, it's best to read each story one at a time. Each essay is so completely different in subject matter and very detailed, it really requires the reader's full focus.

Wallace is a keen observer and often hilarious, but he's also an intellectual. I think it would be difficult to appreciate how robust these essays are, going from one to another as if this is a chapter book. His writing is such a pleasure, and each essay will be appreciated more by savoring it. (less)
