Susan Beecher I truly don't understand which scenario was the real one or maybe that is just the way this book is: two possible scenarios with it all left up in the air?

I finished the book and confused with the very end. While looking for money at the airport in her bag Anna dropped the present for her daughter: the wooden horse, the symbolical horse, from which the whole Anna's adventure starts, right? But after all a stranger, behind her picks up the brown bag and continuing on his way. Is something is connecting with the horse and the man or not? Polina S.
