Overall this gets 4+ stars... but I am reading a LOT of 1 and 2 star ratings. What are your reasons generally without spoilers? Very curious, as I was considering reading some of this some time, yet I don't know if I can with so many 1 star reviews?

It is not libertarian as such, but it does have a different take on how a Star Trek universe with nearly unlimited power might not work out as well as everyone thinks.

Also, the series beginning with "A Hymn Before Battle" features a super gun platform named "Bun-Bun". That is a reference to a character in the Schlock Mercenary webcomic. The series also seems partly focused on capitalism. However, it is not the main theme as it is in "Live Free or Die."(less)
