It focuses on bravery, adventure and the value of friendship. My 5th grader and I read it together and thoroughly enjoyed it- the movie is wonderful too! No bad words, no sexual themes, mild hobbit to dragon or troll violence... highly recommend!(less)

Jasper O. Immensely. Many lines of text and dialogue are directly from the book, and there are no scenes or chapters omitted from the original book! :)
