[Did this get lost?] In chapter 2, Villari starts to phone the General, but suddenly he's in the room. Is this just really poor writing, or am I missing something?

Stephen Burridge In my Kindle copy there is a blank line at that point in the text, presumably marking the change of scene.

In chapter 2, Villari starts to phone the General... and then suddenly the General is there in person, with no explanation. Am I missing something or is this a truly awful editing error?
