I'm just beginning, but already am disappointed. Franklin, Massachusetts is NOT on Cape Cod. I can't get this mistake/misplacement out of my head. I'm hoping to be carried away to other things so this doesn't bother me so much. Did anyone else notice obvious blunders such as this?

why did the author use the expression 'loo' to her 6 year old neighbour? This wasn't a popular phrase until the 1970s! Anyone else agree??

What was the symbolism with the little boy’s overalls? And why did she want the little boy to tell his Mom that they had once belonged to her husband? Did she see that as a sign that he was gone - and that their son would possibly “replace” her husband? It was mentioned twice - so I was confused as to what I missed by that.
