I just wish the book focused on oppression, fbi and police malfeasance and evil, and bigotry; instead of focusing on a lawyer succesfully fighting the justice system. It sounds like diversion and a rare and all-too hopeful example of their being justice served anywhere in the system. Probably was designed to make the system look better than it is. Written by a lawyer. Am I correct?

I was wondering why it didn't take a bigger look at the system, but this was a time where a cop could get with almost anything--he wanted to illustrate how insane and evil it is that Fred Hampton could be shot while sleeping and really just not moving. They set up a gattling gun outside his door and shot him multiple times. The banality of it is what Haas wanted to portray, like now with George Floyd and the Minneapolis Police. If you listen to that tape, he died screaming for his mother.(less)
