Is it necessary or important to read the other 2 books first? My library only has the 3rd available at the moment.
Chris I agree with the prior responses that said to read this series in order, in spite of the fact that "Bite Me" offers a very extensive synopsis of event…moreI agree with the prior responses that said to read this series in order, in spite of the fact that "Bite Me" offers a very extensive synopsis of events leading up to this story. In fact, I suggest reading Christopher Moore's books in this sequence due to character overlaps:

1. Coyote Blue
2. Bloodsucking Fiends
3. A Dirty Job
4. You Suck
5. Bite Me
6. Secondhand Souls

I haven't read any of the Pine Cove series, so I'm not sure if there are any overlaps with those books, but I wouldn't be surprised given the overlap between Coyote Blue and the Grim Reaper series.(less)
