I usually read a couple chapters at one sitting. When I realized that I was confusing Barty with Barton and Jem with Jen I started to pay more attention to the characters' names. Is it usual for this author to have 11 or 12 characters with the same first letter in their names (in this case R or B)?

I don't think it's there to deliberatly confuse the reader, it's just that there are a lot of characters in AC's books! I find it useful to scribble down names and connections on a piece of paper while I read. Makes me feel like detective !!(less)
