Something has changed, globalisation and "italianization" came here too, but sometimes you still could be surprised by how medieval or pagan culture still survives here.
I can't imagine how it could be fifty or a hundred years ago, and I can't guess how it is in Calabria, probably the poorest region in italy.(less)
