Reading about Zeitoun's history after this book and learning about his abuse of his wife is disheartening, but doesn't take away from the impact of the book and his actions and plight during Katrina, does it?

Hopefully, with some time, I will remember the book and not the headlines I just read, which are so disheartening.
Perhaps the recent history (as in the last 7 years) stems from the mental/emotional/physical effects of what happened as related in the book. Super sad and not the made-for-movie ending anyone wants.(less)

I recently added this book as a Recommendation because of Hurricane Harvey. This is such a good description of the overwhelming circumstances that someone who's home is inundated might experience. Good, easy, emotional read. Question mark in order to add this Comment ?
