is this book on similar kines as gone girl?

Keri No, this is more of a romance story with the missing person storyline as the backbone.

This is supposed to be the beginning of a series. The first book! So why does the beginning of the book feel like the middle? They apparently know each other. But from where? Also, there seemed to be some huge incident that she was beat up, months prior. So what are the book(s) that I need to read before untraceable?? Why isnt this info where book info is?

Carol M. Conrad The 2 Glass sisters introduced Troy and Alex. The first one was Thread of Fear and the second one was Whisper of Warning.
