Was anyone else disgusted at the bad grammar used in this book? This guy should learn English!

John M. Not particularly at poor grammar, which I've learned to brook with a sigh, but at decidedly anachronistic language. Phrases like "he is out of your league" instead of "he is above your station," or "the boat raced down the river" instead of "the boat made all speed downriver," etc., not to mention commoners addressing peers by their given names?? Tut. You don't have to write perfect seventeenth-century English as E. R. Eddison did, but you should avoid twentieth-century idiom at least.(less)
