So...Jamie was pretty much a scum bag, right? He seemed so emotionally manipulative to both women in his life, especially Sara, and yet she seems to hero-worship him until the end, and not in a way that makes it seems like the author is implying emotional abuse. Did anyone else get that, or is it just me?

I did however feel that Marcus and Jamie who had so much money did not provide enough for Sara and Keith which irked me.(less)

Would it be recommended to read the first book in the series? Or can I start with #2 in this series? I am asking because audible has a daily deal for the second book and I have not read the first one (yet).
