Mina is pretty good that way, in making her books seem somewhat timeless; I always like to read the oldest first but it's not necessary to do so. I think in some of her series there are things like, the heroine's brother got in trouble, and in another book she'll refer back to that, but it doesn't ever hurt the story to not have these things in sequence or know about them in advance. There won't be anything confusing if you read out of sequence.(less)
