Its way late, but from certain number (I think 25, or 26, you need to work with deductive logic by simulating 3 different scenarios and input all deductions to the table, two of them will not be applicable and only one will be possible. Those scenarios are always AB_, A_C, _BC, while _ is lying and capital letters are those that are telling truth. If someone is lying, you have to negate the whole statement. F.e. Director brought Brain in a Jar, negative would be: direstor didn't bring the brain in a jar. (less)
Celo I would say yes. If he learned mathematical deductive logic / logic formulas at math in school, it should be solvable for a 12/13y.o.
