It is a recount of epic journeys, and a great way to hone your Spanish skills, or at least make you interested in learning it. There are a couple of love interests but they do not dominate the story, or the many storys within the stories. Volume one is especially one of the finest novels you ever will read. Cormac knows a lot about Mexico, the Southwest and a lot about horses and how they are used.(less)
