I just finished the 1958 Pan Books revised edition of "The Hopkins Manuscript" under the title "The Cataclysm." I know that the original 1939 version had an introductory section on how the manuscript was discovered, which is omitted in "The Cataclysm", but if anyone is familiar with both, in what other ways—if any—are the two versions different?

The Hopkins Manuscript was republished in an abbreviated version as The Cataclysm in 1958, the cuts mostly relating to Edgar Hopkins and his Bantams; five years later it reappeared in America under the original title without the cuts.

So I guess depending on much your version is talking about chickens will tell you which Cataclysm it was :)(less)
