Some people could buy their way into an annulment. My parents in the 1990's asked once again for an annulment after being faithful Catholics their whole lives, and after 50 years of marriage to each other...they were now in their 70's. They were told they could get one if they promised to never sleep together again. They knew that in the eyes of God this was silly. They were never able to receive the sacraments which broke their hearts. But they were some of the most faithful people I know. (less)
