my son is a very reluctant reader he is 10.5 and he only wants to read books with pictures in it. Are there any middle grade books with some pictures and more words? I'm so over diary of a wimpy kid

librariantracy Henry Neff has a great series - the Hound of Rowan. Each chapter starts with an amazing drawing. You might give it a try.
