Just finished Clay's Ark and started on Survivor. My question: Is Ark going to tie in with Wild Seed and Mind of My Mind or was it some sort of interlude?

Sandra Ark is pretty easy to read as a stand alone, as the pattern doesn't play into it at all. I've read Wild Seed and Mind Of My Mind. Reading what people are saying about this book it seems to be a separate entity to the other three books, so do I need to read Clay's Ark or can I skip to Patternmaster?
