Is this really the first book, I'm confused because when I read the first couple chapters it didn't really know what was happening?

You don't start at 0, you start at 2 or 3 instead.

Sam I havent read SoC so I don't have a lot of idea as to what your expectations are. But this book doesn't involve a ragtag team. The only similarity I k…moreI havent read SoC so I don't have a lot of idea as to what your expectations are. But this book doesn't involve a ragtag team. The only similarity I know of is that the mc and his family are con artists with curses that helps them pull it off. For example, the mother is an emotion worker, the grand-dad a death worker, someone is a memory worker.
And there are lots of cons in it. No heists though.
Personally, I think this is series is underrated. (less)
