Does anyone know what’s the "source" (if there is one) of this novel? As Poe’s "The Fall of the House of Usher" is to "What Moves the Dead".

The author's acknowledgements at the end of the book said she started with an idea of one scen…moreThis isn't a retelling of anything as far as I can see. The author's acknowledgements at the end of the book said she started with an idea of one scene (I don't want to spoil anything, as it's a pretty key scene near the end) that just stuck in her mind, and then built the story from there. She also mentions roses were a big reason she wrote this. (They are her nemesis)

It's a really great book and if you liked "What Moves the Dead" it's a fair bet to say you'll like this one too. Hope this helps!(less)
