Hello - regarding the animal death - without really spoiling, can you just tell me how bad that its and if it was a pet? I am recommending this to a book club but I have a friend who is very particular about that and Does-the-dog-die doesn't have this book yet. Thanks!

So there is a death of an animal, but it isn’t a pet as such - the nuns feed it and it will hang out with them as it pleases but it isn’t owned by anyone as it’s a stray. There are no gruesome descriptions about it either, just describing how it’s found (essentially like it was curled up asleep). If you want I can find the exact page that this happens on so your friend doesn’t have to read anything to do with it! (less)
