Does this book have a good character/good character development?

E No. I loved to swim from grade school to high school graduation. In spite of my love, I did not finish this book. There are many people introduced in …moreNo. I loved to swim from grade school to high school graduation. In spite of my love, I did not finish this book. There are many people introduced in the book but you don't figure out who they might be until after a few chapters. The author doe not even tell you about one so that you might tie him/her in with another. And who calls their father by his first name. It changes the whole thought process and you have to re-read some sections to understand the relationship. The clincher was that, in general, it is difficult to follow. Life is too short and there are too many books out there.(less)
