The actual artwork at the center of the novel isn't shown, nor is it alluded to on the cover. I predict that, once the novel is out there and (hopefully) successful, there will be a lot of artists willing to do the job. Why do you think Wilson left it out? Is he trying to encourage others to re-imagine his own artwork on the pages?

Not only can readers reimagine the art and words to recreate the feelings of the characters - it may be possible for readers to use their own, but different experiences, to evoke powerful, more intimate, secretly held feelings of being a fugitive.(less)

Haha, I don't even remember any of it. I think given that it didn't stand out at all to me, it's not gratuitous, graphic and it's very basic. I would have loved this as a young adult, the teenage characters are written so wonderfully and they are so relatable. I would honestly let any teenager read it that was interested enough to pick it up. (less)
