Did anyone think that perhaps Emelia and Lucrezia were half sisters? Perhaps same father (Cosimo) which is why they looked alike and allowed the mistaken identity to happen so easily. When Lucre cut her hair they made a point of noting it was the same length as Emelias.

The book does mention that Cosimo was only interested in his wife, but that may be his wife’s view and not necessarily the reality. (less)
