Is this book based on the JonBenét Ramsey case?

It feels like a lot of mystery-thrillers contain murders from the 1990s or before because it was easier to get away with murder then. Sure there was DNA matching and the like, but there were no smart phones, GPS tracking, smart watches, Ring doorbells, social media, etc. Every time I read a book like this with a disappearance or murder 'way back when', I think, 'Oh, this wouldn't have happened if so-and-so just had a cell phone with them.'(less)

Please tell me this is Part 1 and there is another book coming to close the story? I will up my rating if that's the case but if this is a stand alone book the ending with Margot ruins how amazing the rest of the book is!

Hey Crime Junkies, I'm not normally into Fiction 'True Crime', but Ashley Flowers is an icon; for those of you who listen to her podcasts, do you think her writing is up to snuff? Does her voice translate into writing? Does it sound like she's telling us a weekly Crime Junkie tale?

Joni I love the Crime Junkie podcast, listened to every episode, have even listened to some of Ashley Flowers other podcasts as well. My opinion..... she s…moreI love the Crime Junkie podcast, listened to every episode, have even listened to some of Ashley Flowers other podcasts as well. My opinion..... she should stick to podcasts. The book is not like her podcasts. I found it very wordy (overly descriptive) and the main character Margo unlikable. (less)
