I'm about 3/4 of the way thru this book and I must've missed something about the Longshadow hunter group....the character Sparrow is always referred to as they or their instead of he/she or him/her etc why is that? What did I miss? reading?

If it seems odd to use "they" for a singular person, rather than a plural--its actually a more deep-rooted part of our language than you might think.
