In Virgil, Eurydice is object. Orpheus laments her loss, but my professor suggested I read a more contemporary translation and I still don't see what I am missing but I must be?? I thought Ovid was more sympathetic. Is it that in Virgil, Orpheus feels more sorry for HIS loss than actually grieving the love of Eurydice? The relationship?? Thanks
