Was the book written after the movie was made or before it?

Linda It was written before the movie. =)

I love this book; the narritive is wonderfully written and shows passionatly how love can cross differences like politics, culture, religion and it even helps men who read it to get in the heads and minds of the spirited Christian Tala and shy Muslim Leyla and feel with them. Simply put I love this novel and hope the movie will be as good as it is.

Shamim Sarif There are two love scenes in both the book and the movie. I would say the first one is quite different in the book...Hope that helps
