Can this book be read as a stand-alone?
Erika MS Of course. It is not necessary to read it from the 1st book , you can easily get into to the story and characters. Enjoy!

I just have a question about this series. This is the first book of hers I have listened to. I know, but it just happened that way. Does she always speak so much French? It was very distracting and hard to follow.
Fran Hutton One of the things I love about these books is the French in them. I have used them to help me pick up some vocabulary and pronunciation.
