I read this with my ears so at the start of a new section I took a moment to reorient myself in the story. I literally paused and looked at the past chapters to think for just a minute where I was in time with the characters. I think that might have been easier/quicker if I were reading with my eyes. I loved the book and felt it was time well spent!(less)

How did I miss it? The message seems to be that Ben is no longer held in high regard in the community but why?? I don't get it.

He should have seen the angle of the young girl's head, known the danger of a broken neck, and known not to move her. He was disoriented by the fact that he had seen his own son (too young to drive) by the driver's door and his daughter obviously drunk. Missy had a broken neck. He moved her which probably killed her. (less)

He started threatening her, & she realized it was time to end their S&M relationship/her self-punishment, & she broke it off. Her lover disappeared from the story & she was working on saving her marriage at the end. (less)

Am I crazy or is there some very conflicting information? If you read the book, please re-read the first paragraph of page 129 and then read the first paragraph of page 174. Seems like this would have a major impact on the outcome. Overall, I really enjoyed the book and am about to review, but this one piece of information really bogged me down so wanted to come to the questions area to see if anyone else noticed!
