Any idea what explanation Louise and Mark offered the authorities after the end at the house? Did they explain why they and Louise's daughter were in the shape they were in? The ending totally lost me (I wasn't confused, just lost interest).

I don't like depressing endings. Would I like this book?

Matt Reardon Agreed with Cristina. Lots of depressing things happen during the book, but it is actually a happy ending.

ok, Hendrix writes horror, but was anyone actually able to read this whole book? I started skimming partway in, skipped to the end & hadn't missed a thing!

Matt Reardon Some swearing, adult content (but nothing sexual in nature), a surprising amount of violence, and of course some horror, but I'd say a mature 16 year …moreSome swearing, adult content (but nothing sexual in nature), a surprising amount of violence, and of course some horror, but I'd say a mature 16 year old could handle it...though I wasn't a fan of the book in general so I'd recommend something else instead like Stephen King or Dan Simmons if you want some great horror.(less)
