However, I think in the epilogue, Chowder’s offspring, as identified by the mole, show up at the saltbox house. Personally, I didn’t think Shelly was cruel. Chowder was dumped on him without his consent, and that struck me as very rude to say the least. The dog took off at a time when Shelly couldn’t look for him. I thought it was out of his control.(less)
