What’s with all the washing of hands? During Covid, I can understand this but not in 2003 and 2012, for goodness sake!

My great aunt always washed/wiped off all of her groceries before she put cans, boxes, etc in her cabinets; I have many friends and relatives who have always taken their shoes off upon entering the house (and ask visitors to do the same); and I know of others who wash faces and hands when coming in from the workday or school. All of this is pre COVID. I think COVID just created a wider awareness of how to minimize contact with germs and practice good hygiene.(less)
