There are fight scenes with stabbings and shootings (with arrows) described clearly, but I wouldn't call it 'graphic.' There is no sexual content whatsoever, not even implied. There is no sexual violence. A horse is killed, but this is not described in great detail. The few sexist comments are at a level of "are all women like this?" and a few uses of "bitch." I would have comfortably read this in my early teens though it is geared toward adult readers.(less)

As a former high school English teacher, I would not consider this YA. Vocabulary is elevated and main characters are all adults. I don’t think it’s inappropriate for a YA audience, though. No explicit sex scenes or anything (or any sex scenes actually), and only a couple well-placed F-words. NA is probably more accurate to what it is. (less)
