The world of QILWA is queernormative—every character would be read as queer in our world (although not in their own because it's normalized). More specifically, information that's on the page: the main character is nonbinary trans and aroace; their boss is nonbinary but uses he/him pronouns and had a nonbinary partner using neopronouns; their younger brother is binary trans; their trainee had two nonbinary parents; one of their patients has two mothers. Neopronouns (both ones in our world and ones invented for the world) are used in the background. The other named characters are also queer, but that's not directly on the page.
