How did this title end up on the PBS "The Great American Read" series? It's nothing like the other titles and authors on the list.

What seems more likely to me is that the publisher, which was co-founded by the author, paid a click farm to spam PBS's poll with the title in an underhanded advertising tactic. People do it all the time to boost their visibility on Instagram and SoundCloud, so why not here?

The voting process allows everyone to vote for books over and over again daily, so maybe it'll even win. (less)
