(our) Racism hasn't been resolved, or even much ameliorated. It has hidden itself behind a warm smile and a sympathetic tone, as it uses carefully constructed bureaucratic procedures to turn those people of a darker complection away, whether it is from employment, treatment, enjoyment or community and citizenship.

Our racism is perhaps not as subtley disguised as the misogyny we all practice and affects both genders in the same way, meaning that there is a conspiritorial alliance between the genders against the exposure of its practice.(less)
