When Cassie tells Matthew about the history of Prohibition, she tells him that 75% of the total illegal liquor that passed from Canada to the US was between Windsor and Detroit. The author’s notes says that the Canadian government charged export taxes on every bottle that crossed the Detroit River, and that it even though was legal, they kept quiet. Was it legal or illegal? There seems to be a contradiction.
