Having read the other books is a plus because some characters make cameos and some events are mentioned, but it's not really a requisite. In fact, the book connects as much with the Dragonslayer trilogy as with the Wolf of the North, and even mentions events from the Society of the Sword trilogy and the First Blade of Ostia novel, so having read all those gives you more context and you'll probably like this one more if you did, but I'd say you don't really need to. Hell, I'd say you can read them after this one, even. I know I've read many series over the years in the wrong order, especially back in the day when books weren't so widely available, and still enjoyed the hell out of them. (less)
