I'm very nervous to purchase another Jodi Picoult book. She was always my favorite author. However her last to books where so bad and more of a lecture or text book than an enjoyable novel I hate to waste anymore money on her writing. Has anyone here read her last couple of books as well as this one? Is this up to her previous standards?

Like others, I've enjoyed several of Picoult's books, but reading the synopsis (at least, partially), I thought, "Oh, not more social commentary...and haven't we heard enough about [you know...]?"

It's more about finding yourself when life throws you a curve-ball, and figuring out what you really want and what will make you happy. It is not similar to past Picoult books (where there's a crime or murder of some sort and a crazy twist right at the end) but it's a lovely story, and there's still some twists. (less)

Why is 'perfectly good' not good enuf for a marriage anymore for JPicoult? This is the second time that the girl gives up a perfectly great guy for some dude she's 'hot' for. I didn't see anything off between her and Finn- except that he's paranoid about her getting ill again, so he goes overboard in protecting her. Same goes for the Book of 2 Ways'. Doesn't the history you have with your partner count for something ?

She gave up a very stable future but she also feels that she is given a second chance to live and her choices are different. Example being going from art business to art therapy as a career.
