Very powerful and insightful account of the standoff at Wounded Knee as well as the shootout at Oglala. A few years ago I visited Wounded Knee and was shown around by an Oglala man named Sun Bear. He shared some of things that are mentioned in this book. He took me to a nearby building that is covered with murals that say things like "the Indian Wars are not over", "POW camp", "Support Native Resistance", and a painting of, and quote from, Crazy Horse. Many of the things he said to me came to mind as I read through this book. The Indian wars are not over. (less)
