I am puzzled by a paragraph in chapter 11, on pages 195-196 (2015 edition). The book says: “Nasser told his negotiators that Sharrett was part of the moderate tendency in Israel seeking peace but that Egypt should continue with the secret negotiations until the moderates found a solution to their own internal problems.” Is there a typo here, or if not, can somebody elaborate on Nasser's negotiating strategy?
