He was a friend of John Cage at Wesleyan in the 1950s, then of Marshall McLuhan ("Understanding Media"). I finally met Brown at Wesleyan (CT) in 1987 & John Cage at Cage's 75th Birthday symposium. 'Life Against Death' 1959, 'Hermes the Thief' 1953, "LOVES'S BODY" 1966. Etc. Astonishing understanding of humanness, Being, and history !
